From live production to iPad: how I use my Stream Deck

Four cameras, one operator.

At the international space summit at the Grand Palais, I wanted three cameras to keep moving while the operator followed speakers with the fourth. After several trials, I used a Raspberry Pi, Companion and Stream Deck setup to prepare those movements.

The observed result: more moving shots and grouped controls. Framing, monitoring movement and choosing the camera on air remain human decisions. No automatic subject tracking is claimed.

02 · iPad

The Raspberry becomes a Bluetooth keyboard.

I do much of my work on iPad, so I extended the setup to send keyboard shortcuts from physical keys. Opening Spotlight was confirmed on my iPad; the new illustrated V4 pages still need hardware testing.

A key cannot read the screen: opening an app does not prove it is ready, and playback keys depend on the app and active panel. That is why I am starting with a pilot offer.
